The price has been set for MorphOS 2.0. The ISOs available for download are limited to July 15th. After that you need a personalized keyfile.

MorphOS 2.0 is released with an introductory offer at 111,11 EUR and is sold at 150 EUR after July 15th.

This price point is in direct competition with Mac OS X. Will MorphOS Team be responsible and give us support for these money?

Furthermore there is an interview with the makers of NatAmi and Thilo Köhler.

A more detailed description of content and excerpts can be found at: http://www.amigafuture.de/kb.php?mode=article&k=2649

The Amiga Future is available as an English or German printed magazine directly from the editorial office and also some Amiga dealers.
The Amiga Future can be obtained either as a single issue or by subscription each version either with or without a cover CD.

As always you can find lots of PD software and some full versions of software/games such as Hoi, clockwiser, Real3D... on the Amiga Future cover CD.

We ask all users having an interest in this magazine to order as soon as possible, to avoid disappointment, as some previous copies have already sold out.

More Linux based ULCPCs
Posted by: Trizt on Saturday, June 07, 2008 - 09:19
Submitted by Trizt
The Asus Eee PC 700-series was more or less the start of ULCPCs for the ordinary people with Linux pre-installed, around the 26th of June ASUS will release the new Eee PC 900 which has a better display, larger SSD and more RAM, but otherwise the same as the 700-series. The Eee PC 901 will have even more SSD (if you buy the Linux version with Xandros), the new Atom CPU and is supposed to have up to 8 hours battery time (Atom optimized kernel is supposed to have given 25% extra battery time). There will also be Eee PC 1000 and 1000H, where the former has a 40GB SSD and the later a 160GB hard drive, both with a 10 inch display.
Acers senior corporate vice president, Jim Wong said recently, "We really need to continue our journey on Linux, we can develop it more and we will try to develop alliances with more partners. Linux is a lonely word. We need to try to create a community." Acer and many other companies has seen that they can earn more money by selling Linux machines, as they can then have a better margin as they don't have to pay microsoft anything.

Embedded PowerPC podcast

The upcoming, still unscheduled, embedded PowerPC podcast will feature an interview with Josh Boyer, one of the Linux kernel maintainers for embedded PowerPC. Boyer focuses on "IBM/AMCC PowerPC 40x/44x/46x CPUs," according to his recent LiveJournal posting. He also participates with the Penguinppc.org site, which in addition to its ample resources, offers a nice concise introduction to embedded Linux and PowerPC issues in its FAQ. All questions regarding embedded PowerPC are welcome, says Boyer.
